Memory and the on-device model
Orvena's own model, Qwen 3.5 4B, needs an iPhone with 8 GB of memory, and the iPhone Air has 12 GB. The extra memory gives the voice more room to stay loaded next to the model, so spoken replies can start sooner.
Storage you need
Orvena's model is a download of about 3 GB. Voice adds two packs that both download after you unlock it: about 345 MB for English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese, and about 400 MB for the other 26 languages. You can remove either one under Settings, then Voice. Apple says Apple Intelligence needs up to 14 GB of storage on the iPhone Air.
iPhones that run on-device AI
Apple Intelligence and Orvena both run on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, every iPhone 16, 17 and 18 model including iPhone 16e and 17e, iPhone Air and iPhone Duo.
